Video: Wetdog, “Lower Leg”

If you were a punk 14-year-old when you first heard legendary British anarchist group Crass, you were probably confused, like we were, by the song "Walls (Fun in the Oven)". For an angry collective of off-the-map ragers, this song sounded suspiciously like female-fronted disco-rock, not the kind of thing that's going to topple a lot of systems. But, you soon realized, the female vocal bass heavy post-punk dance kicker is the kind of thing to fuel years of obsession. Maximum Joy, Lizzy Mercier Descloux, Red Monkey, Huggy Bear... The list thankfully goes on forever, now with the addition of Wetdog. They're punk and fast and have this sassy chip on their voice that makes them infinitely British. It's not the newest trick pony but it's the most consistent thoroughbred. Some things you're a sucker for and you know you're a sucker for, some things you just need to shake everyone until they get it. Wetdog and all their she-brethren gonna be the latter. In any case, this video was filmed underwater in a swimming pool, which is sweet.
