New Pornographers' New Porn to Include Beirut, St. Vincent and Okkervil River's Will Sheff

Aaaaaaaah. August 2007 was the last time The New Pornographers all got together and released an album. Well now that the year of the tiger is upon us, the gang’s reunited to release their Challengers follow-up. Titled Together, the LP was produced by the band with help from Phil Palazzolo and got recorded on both coasts in places like Vancouver, Brooklyn, Woodstock, and Catskill, NY. The record features the super-group’s full eight-piece line-up, which includes (deep breath) A.C. Newman, Dan Bejar, John Collins, Neko Case, Kurt Dahle, Kathryn Calder, Todd Fancey and Blaine Thurier. The name-dropping doesn’t stop there, as the album hosts guest appearances from Zach Condon (aka Beirut), Annie Clark (aka St. Vincent), Will Sheff (captain of Okkervil River), and horns accompaniment from the Dap-Kings. For those keeping score of the liner notes, A.C. Newman supplies the record with nine of its songs, while Dan “Destroyer” Bejar only contributes three. There are no MP3s yet, but in the meantime, check out the album art, featuring the craziest snowball fight we’ve ever seen, and the band's newly redesigned website, which includes over 100 photos of the band jamming and recording Together.
