NOFX's Fat Mike Is A Restaurateur, Park Slope Makes Play For Punk Cred

Park Slope, Brooklyn has recently been in the news for a few things. One, they have a kind of elitist food co-op that occasionally kicks people out. Two, stroller giant Maclaren recently recalled huge numbers of their high-end baby-mobiles for snapping off a few little appendages and The New York Times immediately went to Park Slope, epicenter of the crisis. Three, apparently their bars are filled with these luxuriously-equipped little guys! Obviously these little Brooklyn babies are living in constant fear of losing a limb and need some dranky drank to soothe their pain. We hear that. We're not saying this is entirely representative of the whole hood, but the last time we went to Southpaw we did cross paths with a dozen or so strollers and a dog in a sweater. Taking all this into account, we were more than a bit perplexed when we read NOFX's Fat Mike is part of a team opening up a new restaurant there called Thistle Hill Tavern. How do we murder the government? Dogs in sweaters all day. (Via: Village Voice)
