The National To Make Us Feel Delightfully Old And Sad All Over Again

We've always had a bit of a soft spot for The National. Matt Berninger's baritone has many a times bellowed out lines that have made us feel like he was stalking us and our group of friends late at night. Granted, he doesn't always do this and lines like "Can you carry my drink, I have everything else" make our lives seem kind of morose. But what's good songwriting if not being adaptable to twist into selfish delusions right?! We're pretty sure if everyone had a band that made songs out of their inner-angst and sad-bastardy feelings, we'd save a ton of dough on pesky journals and therapy bills and just splurge at the record store.

Needless to say, we were quite tickled to read that the boys will be gearing back up for a record and tour this year, their first full-length since 2007's Boxer. The as yet untitled album will be out in May on 4AD, and their tour dates start in late March. Those are after the jump.
