If You See an Indie Movie This Spring, Grizzly Bear Probably Scored It

Grizzly Bear's music already possesses a sort of cinematic quality that seems ripe for film scoring. So the news that they were scoring the Ryan Gosling drama Blue Valentine was welcome, but also somewhat unsurprising. But now comes the news they played a big part in yet another upcoming indie flick, Philip Seymour Hoffman's directorial debut Jack Goes Boating. There are conflicting web reports as to whether they will literally be scoring the film or just contributing a large amount of music and vocals for an Evan Lurie (of the Lounge Lizards) score. Regardless, we're pretty stoked to hear these results. From  Jay-Z to all their Brooklyn music friends to Hoffman, these dudes are quickly becoming a weird Kevin Bacon of sorts of indie rock.
