OMG a newly uncovered outtake from the Black Star album!!!! JK it’s just an outtake from Mos Def’s most recent solo record The Ecstatic, though it certainly would have fit fine as a B-side to “Definition.” Until Mos starts to sing over mariachi horns. That part just sounds like a fat-and-on-pills era Brian Wilson Beach Boys outtake. Which is to say, it’s the best part of the song.
