Ever since Bun B became one of the most constant (and consistent) solo figures in rap, guesting on songs with just about anyone who wanted him, we worried that he would reach a point of oversaturation. Which is not to say a Bun B verse isn't welcome, because it usually is. It's just, after awhile, it becomes less of an event, less a legend coming down from his spot high atop hip hop's hierarchy, and more just the dude who is really nice to you when you see him every day waiting for the same bus as you. One thing that has remained constant though is that Bun B's mixtapes are always chances for him to show how much fun he has rapping. He'll take on any beat like it was meant for him, even if it really, realllllllly isn't. The fact that this mixtape is called No Mixtape—based on a misunderstood adlib—proves that maybe Bun just can't quite stay away from rap even if he tried.
