Patrick Stump Leaves Fall Out Boy, Not Really Worried About Fall Out Boy

falloutboySpeaking exclusively with SPIN yesterday afternoon, Patrick Stump has declared that he is no longer part of Fall Out Boy. He expands his statement to say, “One way or another, the band will always be around. Steven Tyler isn’t in Aerosmith anymore, but his gravestone will probably say something about Aerosmith. Whether we play again or not, I don’t know. If we do, it will be for the right reasons. If we don’t, it will also be for the right reasons.”

The band went on hiatus following a tour with Blink-182, and the band members have been working on new projects since. Stump claims he “doesn’t want anything to get in the way” of these efforts, including their original band. “I’m really not worried about Fall Out Boy,” Stump said. “I’m so psyched about where I’m at right now, recording this solo album.”

If a Stump falls in the woods and no one hears it, did it really fall?

Good luck on that solo album.
