Obama Pwn3s Congress with Well-Timed Bob Dylan Concert

Barack, you need to stop making fun of the people we elected all the time because they are going to start thinking that you think that their job is to do what’s good for the people who elected them. This is not their job. Their job is to act like babies. And as babies they probably still enjoyed having nice songs sung in their presence, like Bob Dylan’s “The Times They Are A-Changin’,” which includes the lyric:

Come senators, congressmen
Please heed the call
Don’t stand in the doorway
Don’t block up the hall
For he that gets hurt
Will be he who has stalled
There’s a battle outside
And it is ragin’.
It’ll soon shake your windows
And rattle your walls
For the times they are a-changin’.

These words were performed by Mr Dylan himself, as part of In Performance at the White House: A Celebration of Music from the Civil Rights Movement, organized by the first lady, Michelle Obama, as the Black History Month segment of her continuing music series at the White House. It will be on PBS this Thursday, so no congressmen will see it since they’ll be busy watching replays of themselves not doing anything on C-Span. (more from Jon Pareles at the New York Times)
