If, when you think of dubstep, you imagine a bunch of dudes in a dark London club wearing oversized sweatshirts and dancing funny while always looking like they want to stroke their goatees, think again. That’s so 2007! Two separate parties have identified the emerging theme of romance in dubstep and have compiled mixes fresh for this Valentine’s Day so you can experience the somewhat surreal experience of making out with your loved one to deep bass and wobble. Actually we haven’t tried it yet, but when we do… we imagine it will be surreal. If anyone has DONE THE DO to any of these tracks, or does, please let us know if it was weird in the comments section. We were making a mixtape called “Weird Bonezone” but the project has stalled. First, there’s Lovestep 2 by Percussion Lab founder Praveen, a follow-up to Lovestep 1, which expands the bounds into garage and funky but stays true to the theme of getting all up in your… ahem… heart. Secondly, Dirty South Joe & Flufftronix mixed together Luvstep, which we are listening to now and feeling super amorous. If someone buys this in love packaging for us on V-Day we will melt into a pile of hot chocolate. Don’t sleep!
