We'll Be Seeing A Lot Of Julian Casablancas In The Next Six Months

Julian "The lead Stroke" Casablancas had been laying pretty low for quite some time while many of his band mates let their artistic whims loose. But then toward the end of last year, he started showing up again in support of his solo record, Phrazes For The Young. Then he did a couple residencies and things were looking up. But then some not-so-encouraging Strokes rumors got started and we got worried he was going to hibernate all over again. But after news last week that The Strokes have a near-finished album that will (fingers crossed) come out in September, comes the news that Casablancas himself will go back out on tour this month. It can't help but feel like one of your oldest friends just moved back into town. That is, if your friend wrote an album that NME named the high water mark of an entire decade of music.
