Taking "biting the hand that feeds you" to another level (in true C. Love form), Courtney Love took the opportunity to blast the UK music scene and trash her last solo album while addressing students at Oxford on February 12. Dressed all in black, the oft-addled singer managed to show up on time for her speech and spoke for an hour before opening the floor up to questions, for better or for worse.
Discussing the rise of 360 promotional deals, Love said, "Friends don't let friends do 360 deals." (Funny, I can think of a lot of other things Love's friends should have discouraged her from doing.) She then claimed that her last album, America's Sweetheart was crap, stating, "I thought I could be both Mick [Jagger] and Keith [Richards] at the same time, but one of you has to be sober and I'm not two people. Much of my hi-jinx have been drug-related. When you're under 30, whatever, but once you're past 40 it's just ugly." Wisdom! (Via NME.)
