I’m a germaphobe. In the morning, when trying to claim some space in a train car on the way to work, I really need to have both my hands available. Because as much as I’d like to kick back and read, it’s more comfortable to just lean on what’s around than have to transfer whatever gnarliness exists on handles to the book/magazine I’ll eventually be reading in my CLEAN bed later that night. Here’s what I listened to on the way to work.
Eddy Current Suppression Ring formed at their company Christmas party a few years back. They all worked at a vinyl plant outside Melbourne and once the party started to fizzle and they had all probably had their fair share of lager, they began to jaaaaaam. That session begat several more jam sessions and those birthed two fantastic rock 'n roll full-lengths that you really really need to hear. Rush to Relax, their third, is incoming (3/16 to be exact) as is a U.S. tour I'm told. If you or someone you love suffers from obsessive-compulsive disorder, Eddy Current Suppression Ring are your dudes and their clenched fist garage racket your balm.
