Way back in early December, just before the holiday crush, I did an interview with Tough Knuckles' Calvin LeCompte, a wandering lo-fi disciple of the man known to most as Ariel Pink. Marble-mouthed, LeCompte went on at length about how he'd give just about anything to be one day mentioned in the same creative breath as Pink. He talked about Pink's music with so much gusto, I started to wonder if he might just cobble together a covers seven-inch to make that wish come true himself. Well, LeCompte is going to shit his pants when he hears the prog pop of "Round and Round," new single (and serious sonic departure) from Pink's Haunted Graffiti's forthcoming 4AD debut. And even if he doesn't right away, he will in the coming months. "Round and Round" will be out as a digital single on the 26th of next month, the full-length will be there for him/you/Earth come summer.
