It’s not quite a battle of the bands, but you do get to vote on a winner! Metric and Broken Social Scene have each chosen a cause they’re passion about and are competing in the Pepsi Refresh SXSW Challenge for $100,000 to “refresh” a community. Metric is supporting the Women’s Funding Network, whose efforts are directed toward eradicating violence against girls in the States. Broken Social Scene is in Street Kids International’s corner, an organization that helps empower street kids to find safe, meaningful work. Either way, people win.
