In an effort to embrace the times and beat the leak, MGMT have decided to stream their forthcoming long-player on their very own home page. They left you the following message:
Hey everybody, the album leaked, and we wanted you to be able to hear it from us. We wanted to offer it as a free download but that didn’t make sense to anyone but
NERD BONUS: Sigur Ros frontman, Jónsi Birgisson, also stripped down “Time To Pretend” for a recent BBC Radio 1 session. It might have been a byproduct of that song’s production values or mammoth hook, but I always had trouble hearing the lyrics. Not the case here. Jonsi’s version is simply falsetto and piano, a gorgeous indication that in addition to really sophisticated melodies, there’s fantastic lyrical sentiment laced throughout as well.
More Jónsi to come right here.
