Smokey Robinson was in Austin last week where he addressed young music industry hopefuls while promoting his new album Time Flies When You're Having Fun. The veteran crooner said, "thicken your skin," "show business is a life of hard knocks." You've heard it before, but not from Smokey.
In his 50 years singing, the former frontman of the Miracles had stories to tell. When it seemed like he was going on a tangent, he managed to bring the subject full circle, back to how musicians can make it in America. Message!
