Stylee Fridays: No 6 Has Heavenly New Clogs

April 02, 2010

Beyond buxom turn-of-the-century milkmaids, most people have a mental register on clogs that starts sometime in the flare-loving '70s. The shoes resurfaced again in the '90s, and it was wholesome supermodels like Karen Mulder that we fondly remember clip-clopping around in them (Dutch people clearly get a pair at birth), and she usually completed the look with a baby doll dress and lots of pre-millennial insouciance.

Clogs are hands down an "it" shoe this summer, and it's equally awesome and annoying that one of our favorite styles will be in abundance this season. Like Rachel Comey, No 6 has a love for wooden heels that predates the spring 2010 Chanel clog, and their latest collection takes the shoe in every conceivable direction. There's your standard peep-toe mule clog for every day living, the tasseled version that adds a touch of prep and then gold sandal clogs that will make a very simple summer look a little more fancy. Shot out by babbling brooks and open fields, the No 6 lookbook is a taste of what we hope city dressing will be all about this summer, even if we have to fake that fashion wilderness under a tree in Central Park.
