The new video for Tough Knuckles' driving lo-fi anthem, "Reel Ten," fits in snugly with a recent, awesome phenomenon of provocative music videos, videos in which artists are not simply whoring themselves up or shining as the star, but are actually engaging in a dialogue about individual expression in public space. Old Knuckles' foray isn't anywhere near as dramatic as Erykah Badu's new video, or even Matt and Kim's old one, but it's still excellent. There he is, strolling through the Met, videographer dodging about—do you know how rigid the Met is? When I first moved to New York and went to said museum, I tried to call a friend back home to describe how beautiful one particular painting was. Even when I lied and explained that this friend was actually my dying wife, who loves art, and was going to pass within the month, museum guards insisted I hang up the phone. That's no joke. Videotaping this shit takes balls.
