Chicago is, among other things, the heartland of Michael Jordan and his Air Jordan empire. But Bulls center Joakim Noah is hoping for a little bit of Chicago shoe glory himself. At a restaurant in Chicago last week, Noah debuted his footwear collaboration with Le Coq Sportif. LCS is a French sportswear company that clothed Noah’s dad Yannick Noah, when he played pro-tennis in the ’70s and ’80s, and Joakim’s new basketball boot is a recreation of one his father wore on the tennis court. There’s only a limited number of these sneakers being made, but Noah was nice enough to give the first pairs away to some lucky local Chicago kids.
