Among the long list of exciting Sub Pop debuts this year, one seems to be sitting quietly behind its brothers and sisters: Jaill's That's How We Burn. You could say it's because their strain of crispy, 90s indie rock twang doesn't have a lot in common with what's "hott" these days in the musicnerdiverse. Or you could argue that it's because they call Milwaukee their home, a city some locals claim is more comfortable a spot for cover bands to make a living. After hearing first mpfree "Everyone's Hip" late yesterday, we sent an instant message across the office to a fellow Fader staffer who just so happens to be a proud son of the very same city by the lake. He responded and for a moment, confused them with other dudes entirely. Check the transcript while you jam. It's after the jump.
