It was only a matter of time before a DJ would pay tribute to the late great Malcolm McLaren. Almost a week from the day of his death (April 8th), DJ Premier mixed some of Malcolm McLaren’s best work, almost telling a story of his life through incorporating interviews with one of music’s most influential figures.
In signature Premo fashion, he cuts and scratches MM’s name through the course of the tape. His legacy is present from Premo’s tracklist gleaning his catalog of hits from “Buffalo Gals,” to “I Want Candy.” The real highlight is KRS-ONE’s interlude speaking on MM. Stream the mix below.
