Coachella Warm-up at New LA Gallery Papillion Institute of Art

April 15, 2010

To celebrate the opening of their 1200 square foot art space in downtown Los Angeles tonight, April 15th, the Papillion Institute of Art is throwing a pre-Coachella bash. PIA's inaugural exhibit The Hello Show, features work from a bunch of artists both established and emerging, including the work of skateboard documentarian Paul "Animal" Chan. As well as being the man behind skate mag Lurkervision, Chan was an editor at West Coast hip-hop publication Kronik back in the day, and his archive of photography features rappers wilding out in scrappier times, like this baby photo of Lil Wayne. Full details of the opening, including performance line-up, after the jump.
