Of all the artists that make mixes (pretty much everyone), it’s always interesting to hear what Salem take in and spit back out through their warped musical vision. This time around, it is apparently slowed-down rave music and ambient passages. There’s no real arc to the mix and it feels like getting ambushed and punched in the brain by a walking bottle of codeine at 5am. It is surreal and uncomfortable and even if we never listen to it again, we’re glad it exists.
