Because The-Dream apparently thinks he is not working hard enough, he’s linked with Ludacris for a drastic rework of the original “Love King.” It’s not better so much as awesome in a different way, which is funny because that’s how we describe every new Dream song.

Actually, I think I like this version better. I like the original, too, but it does kinda feel like a not-quite-as-good “Shorty Is The Shit” (which isn’t such a bad thing). This one’s a little more out there, a nice deconstruction of the original, and Luda is a good match for it. I’d like to hear this on the radio + get it as a bonus track on the album.

I’m with Jack on this one.
The first version was entirely soulless. Let the radio keep that one. Give me this on the album, with its grittiness and street romanticism. The original is my clenched fist and all this one does is let my worries and hypertension get the fuck up outta here. Though this version lacks the, “sorry ladies there ain’t nothin’ like a smart chick (or whatever he mumbles)” which cannot be emphasized enough.
