The National To Do Live Webcast With That Guy Who Had Bob Dylan Hold Up Those Signs

That's right, your grandparents have no excuse not to have a Tumblr account now that D.A. Pennebaker is directing a live webcast. BrooklynVegan says the show, a benefit concert for the Red Hot Organization, will take place May 15 and the Brooklyn Academy of Music and will stream it all live on YouTube. No more streaming or ticket details appear to be available yet, but apparently Pennebaker and his wife Chris Hegedus will also be showing one of their short films before the show.

In other National news, we were able to catch an intimate live radio set they did last week over at WNYC's Green Space studio. The new songs sounded pretty killer, but even more entertaining was the band's description of their own creative process:  the Dessner brothers put the music together and get it to Matt, which he then blasts on his iPod for the following months in his apartment while drinking wine until he feels compelled to start mumbling along. Check out a video of "Terrible Love" above ,as well as the full stream of the show below. Oh weird, two more clips of the show can be found here.
