If the rumors are true, supermodel Kate Moss is covering a Velvet Underground song with the new band her boyfriend, the Kills’ Jamie Hintz, is forming. Those with non-selective memories may recall Moss’ come-hither guest vocals on a Primal Scream track a few years back, which to be honest wasn’t that terrible until she started whispering at the end, a less seductive monologue than an “I might kill your children” creepsnarl. A VU cover suits her persona a little more—vampy, squinting waif wading in i’m-special lethargy—and she and Hintz seem to enjoy a special grizzled rockstar chemistry, so we’re reserving our cynicism until it transpires. Besides, we’re fiending at the prospect of a battle of the bands between their crew and Dead Weather. We’d pass the hat and pony up like, $15 of our own for the winner.
