Stream: Mount Kimbie, “Fields”

Holler if you like shirts with club collars and John Updike! We've got a group for you and it's The Mount Kimbies. They've got their debut album, Crooks and Lovers, coming on Hot Flush and it's got a lady with a big butt on the cover. Kind of left field for Mount Kimbie, who, though they're British, have always given us a feeling that their music is for those islands off the coast of Cape Cod, pranksters from Norman Rockwell paintings grown up with just a bit of rascal left in them, getting it out on their drum machines after tucking their young ones in. Resident Advisor has a stream up of "Fields," which spends half its time as heavy steam, before the super rad acoustic guitar (?!) breakdown that comes totally from nowhere and makes them seem like extraordinarily clever gents. Stoked for this album. Check our Dollars to Pounds interview with Mount Kimbie while you wait for its release.
