Remember when TI first went to jail and there was all that talk about how he was going to write furiously and come out with a million songs? Then when he did get out, he was like, Yeahhh so it turns out it’s actually really hard to write an album in prison so I didn’t do it. For some reason, it felt like that painful moment when you have to watch a kid try to explain to a teacher why he didn’t do his homework, when the answer is usually just, “I didn’t feel like it,” but we’re going to give him a pass. “Yeah Ya Know (Takers)” sounds like Tip recorded it literally as he was leaving the prison walls—he’s that excited. King Uncaged is out August 17th.
