These suburban angst jams will both appear on an album called The Suburbs, out August 3 in the US. Sure, the suburbs steez has been done a million times, but Arcade Fire goes in much deeper than most, and the title track sounds like all the reasons we've ever loved this band. "Month Of May" borders on garage rock, which is weird because we're pretty sure this whole band could barely fit in a garage. It also contains the line I know it's heavy. I know it ain't light. But how you gonna lift it with your arms folded tight. Few bands could pull off such dramatic sentiment. This one definitely can.
