It is difficult to imagine Chief playing the lush rock they do without the ebullience of their collective hairdos—to buy into the idea of their freewheeling West Coast melodies, we need them to be hirsute. Blame that on the 1970s, a shit decade in America by most accounts but one that was saved by the everlasting dreams of men with poufy bouffants and the beach. So I'd walk down to the shore and say the same thing that you said before, sings head vocalist Evan Koga, and you can totally visualize him doing that, serenading his love with jams by an open bonfire. It's totally groovy, if we smoked herbimajuana, we might do that with these guys. If you do, you can do that and go to one of their shows, because they're touring in June, dates after the jump.
