Stream: James Blake, "CMYK" MP3

We realize you dudes have every right to be mad that we held out on this gem for so long but it's like when you discover a really great place to get cheap sandwiches and you just fail to mention it to other people. Sometimes we're so wrapped in how glorious something is we forget to share. Yesterday we played "CMYK" for a friend and they then lost a cover on the ukelele and we realized sharing can probably bring mind-boggling shit to life! So here we are using a late pass and bringing this gift to you. James Blake is just of legal age to drink in the US and we'd love to invite him over for beer and pick his mind about how he was able to put so many good things in one track.

James Blake's testament to his keen ear for music or even Aaliyah's talent, seeps through the dubstep underbelly of "CMYK." He makes her voice sound like a gargoyle, which we can also enjoy. We imagine it's a little bit of both. The soulfulness creeping throughout the darkness of the melodies serves up such a unique mood. The track manages to relax while simultaneously making you want to head nod until your neck snaps. You find yourself feeling romantic in the midst of all the heavy bass. It's our idea of a perfect love song. We don't know what that says about us but we're pretty sure it's a good thing. Scroll down to listen and check his myspace for more goods.
