This weekend UCLA gathered an array of some of the most talented artists in jazz and reggae music. Luckily for us by “jazz” they meant R&B and soul considering the lineup including Raphael Saadiq, Bilal, Foreign Exchange, Quadron and Q-Tip to name a few. One after another: Coco, Bilal, Phonte, Sy Smith, Q-Tip, and Saadiq worked some magic for the crowd including highlights from their new albums as well as Q-Tip bringing out some Tribe favorites with his new live band. The day dedicated to reggae acts brought performances from Nneka, Barrington Levy, Etana, and headliner Nas & Damian Marley (Distant Relatives) for the headliner. With a crowd pushing far into the tens of thousands, Nas and Damian tore the school down, but had to leave shortly after the performance as the crowd was forming into an irritated mob due to the strict security. Check out some concert footage, pictures, and interviews with the artists in the clickable gallery after the jump.
