Havana conquered her first LP, L.I.F.E (Living In Fearless Emotion) five years ago. Along with her independent introduction, she embodied her fearlessness being one of the few songstresses representing the Bay Area. Out west, her small community spearheaded by ladies like Goapele is overshadowed by the testosterone and adrenaline cocktail of Cali’s hyphy movement, that still doesn’t mean that her voice can’t still glisten, as it should. After laying the groundwork with guys like Nicolay, and PPP’s Wajeed, Havana’s first release from her sophomore effort, Entervention cranks up smooth synths—kind of a makeover from L.I.F.E‘s bare bones feel of the kickdrum and snare combo.
