Janelle Monae f. B.oB. & Lupe Fiasco, "Tightrope" (Wondamix) MP3

With that sweet riff where Big Boi comes on the original, looping through the entire tune on distorted electric guitar glory this remix is actually just ridiculous. Also anybody else hear that stuttered drum beat from "Dead Wrong"?! Oh Diddy you never ever fail us! Who knew if you threw some ukulele on it there would be a jam. Now that Janelle is part of the house that invented the remix this comes as no surprise.

B.o.B. and Lupe's flows are on opposite ends of the spectrum with Bobby Ray's raspy charged half-yell and Lupe whispered drawl. Too bad both of them play second fiddle to Janelle's verse. The Kansas City native's southern hospitality takes a backseat stealing the show. Thanks to years of hanging with the Outkast clique, she learned rap's ropes but we're willing to bet she blasted copious amounts of UGK before she spit this. The Bun B-esque finish and southern supercharged bite behind the words are just the right in-between for her former labelmates and the perfect about-face for her operatic voice. Album just dropped and i been on a couple covers/Black and white tux ain't no need for no other colors/T-t-t-alkin bout why don't she change her clothes/Well they ain't seen em on the last three times I posed in Vogue. We can confirm that this line is FACT. In the words of her comrade Sir Lucious Leftfoot: "GIRL STOOOOOP!"
