Superchunk Shreds Majesty, Ends 16-Year Television Hiatus

We know you've been flipping through late-night television for years being all like, "Can Leno book Superchunk at  least once?" But obviously that wasn't gonna happen because well, does Leno even listen to music? Thank Gen X-er Jimmy Fallon, then, who has booked the band on his show for September 20, their first television appearance since 1994, to support their new album, Shredding Majesty. Not to flex our awesome power, but we are currently listening to an advance of said album, and it is pretty awesome—they apparently approached the record in the same way as their early ones, Mac writing the jams and the rest of the band providing the flourishes, and it's in the spirit of No Pocky and On the Mouth. Because we are not hateful hoarders, we're gonna go ahead and direct you to the land after the jump, where you can watch a video of the band recording and hear sneak peeks from the record. There are also tour dates and a tracklisting down there, too. Treasures!
