The Morning After: BLK JKS f. Alicia Keys, "Too Late" at the FIFA World Cup Kick-Off Concert

Check in with us daily to see Suite903 artists take over TV. Today we’re watching Alicia Keys and BLK JKS perform “Too Long” from yesterday's ESPN feed from South Africa.

Unless you live underwater in an iceberg cave you know that today is the beginning of one the biggest international sporting events—World Cup 2010. As the entire globe is going mad over football, this year it is even bigger than ever before because it's in SOUTH AFRICA! What it means to the people of South Africa to be at the center of the international community's attention we can only guess but to have their native sons BLK JKS performing at the kick-off must be fuckin awesome! Mama-to-be Alicia Keys joined them on stage for a performance of their song "Too Late" that was so good even the baby was probably doing penalty kicks. To us, the real star of the whole thing was Lindani Buthelezi's guitar solo. He made that guitar wail as strong as A. Keys. Maybe he was thinking of the way his countrymen let the vuvuzelas express their absolute loyalty and love for their team. Our friends over at The FADER had a chance to hang out with BLK JKS yesterday up until the concert. Peep the performance and then read all about the adventures.
