Josh Homme’s Rekords Rekords and indie label Dangerbird have just struck a deal that could allow Homme's label to release a lot more music. Homme stresses the hands-off approach Dangerbird has taken to the partnership, saying it was key for him to not have the feel or aspirations of a major label. “I don’t want to sell out Shea Stadium,” Homme says. “I just want the people that are into the music to feel uplifted.” Alain Johannes’ solo debut, Spark, will be their first release on August 31. Homme plans to use the label as a platform for The Eagles of Death Metal, as well as a re-release of a 10-volume box set of his Desert Sessions.
