Expanding from February's Black History Month, June is significant because of Jimmy Carter's recognition of the late-great Kenny Gamble's call for black music to be celebrated for it's significance to the fabric of America in 1979. Let's not forget the more worldly influence of black musicians beyond the United States borders through the years which has given us new talent like rising star, Hal Linton. The Barbados-native sat was interviewed by AOL Black Voices recently where he also did three songs. Watch the performance after the jump.
