Health's music has traditionally been about fitting jagged edges into rounded corners. Making harsh noise listenable within a pop music framework—it's for these reasons that this Nite Jewel remix also works so well. Any trace of the original's rough aspects are eliminated and are instead wrapped in a gauzy film of distant electronics and rippling drum machines. It's warm and comforting, and like the best of Nite Jewel's music, it sounds like coming out the other end of a particularly heavy food coma and feeling rested but immovable. So basically...this is music for after your Thanksgiving dinner? It's a little early, but we'll still be listening in November. Up above watch the "censored" version of Health's "USA Boys," in which they clearly spent a lot of time meticulously cutting out anything that might be even somewhat not safe for work.
