Conor Oberst Joins Song Strike Against Arizona Immigration Law

Those who know Conor Oberst’s style won’t be surprised to hear he’s joined Song Strike. The guy is more grass roots than a backyard, he openly supports PETA, subscribes to no mainstream religion, and he’s played rallies for both John Kerry and Barack Obama. Oberst says the aim of Song Strike is not to deprive Arizona of music (an unfortunate side effect) but to call attention to the state’s recently passed immigration bill. Oberst’s “Coyote Song” is one of many being released to support non-profits out to fight the bill, snippets of which you can hear in the clip above. (Via Twentyfourbit)
