New York producer/DJ Michna chopped down the debauched Ibiza bigness of “Acapella” with some funky-inspired syncopation and a pared-down synth flick, leaving one to wonder what her new album could have been if Kelis hadn’t geared most of the production to bottle-service Chelsea clubs. Chick is still one of our number one divas, but as this track shows, she’s better on sparer beats that let her awesome voice breathe than beats built to rock 20,000 person corpo raves. But whatever! Good job Michna.

The original version is so cheap and so flat = david guetta!
