Food Thyme With Here We Go Magic

July 09, 2010

For our summer music issue, Luke Temple of Here We Go Magic told us all about the painting he made for the cover of the band's latest release, Pigeons. He depicted himself and his bandmates as cannibals, eating dinner together like they did when they were recording the album in a house they shared in the Catskills. Since we knew the band had a propensity for preparing meals together—be it a roast chicken with vegetables, curry-squash pancakes or a creative take on sandwiches—we wanted to get them together to show us their culinary chops. Instead of standing over an oven in hot NYC, we sat in Brooklyn's McGorlick Park where Temple and bandmate Peter Hale showed us exactly how unique of a grasp they have on sandwich-making. To read more about the Pigeons cover art, check out the Sleeves column in FADER #68.
