Premiere: Mumdance, Different Circles Mixtape

July 13, 2010

Don't let the cover's blunt-huffing kool kat (no Snacks) fool you—Mumdance's new mixtape is a radical beast of a thing, and sans tracklist (the beats are apparently so new they can't be let out the incubator yet), it feels like a full album, particularly with choice bits from guest vocalists Esser, Trim, Jammer, MC Sparks & Kie, Badness and Boy Betta Know (not to mention TWO ill crystal marimba solos at 18:20 and 25:11). Additionally, there are apparently collaborations on here with Drums of Death, Shortstuff & Brackles, Toy Selectah and AC Slater—all dropped as a preview for next month's Mum Decent EP, out on Mad Decent. Does this dude just jam this stuff out like it's no big deal? Guess that's the stoner kitty element, but his brain scan results must resemble erupting volcanos.
