As you may remember reading here before, Screaming Females are three weirdo rippers dripping with the grit of Dirty Jerz. Listening to "I Don't Mind It" is a total transportation device—its guitars rumble like the motor of a black van in '82 as it guns over the Tappan Zee into the city. Glenn O'Brien, are you reading? They're clearly meant to be on TV Party, time to resurrect your jam. Singer/guitarist Marissa Paternoster is an absolute beast behind a mic, her wicked punk steez nestled comfortably in the straightforward, honeyed yawl of her voice. It's almost impossible to imagine her playing such killer riffs while she sings such a distraught anthem, too complex to fathom, but she does. From the basement to the world.
