LA MPC fanatic Exile is about to release AM/FM, his album conceptualizing the radio as a repository for good and evil. His thesis was clearly an inspired vessel for the creativity of himself and his friends: not only does that full length offer nine remixes, but on the free Radio Bonus LP, he's packed 11 more tracks and four bonus cuts that he couldn't fit on the proper release—which is roughly double the amount of songs in heavy rotation on any given commercial FM station right now. Typically coated in murky LA scratchiness and heady rhythmic twists, Exile's paranoid mission is the perfect platform for Madvillain-y ideals, scraping the edge of space's atmosphere as equally as the gritty crux of the curb. Great for getting in philosophical headspace. AM/FM is out August 31.
