Mos Def lent his signature I-don't-need-to-breathe flow on this track he donated to the Raise Hope For Congo Compilation. The track was originally off his 2009 album The Ecstatic but he performs it here, acapella. The compilation is being put together by The Enough Project and KCRW Director: Nic Hancourt. It features other great artists like Bat for Lashes, Norah Jones and aims to raise funds for the Raise Hope for Congo Project that works toward empowerment of women who are subject to abuse and atrocities as an effect of the conflict in the Congo.
We loved this on the album but acapella you can hear why—the dude is so mellow. There's no rush in his delivery because he always commands attention. To find out more about the project go here.
