The Let Out: That Memphis Shit with Benjamin Meadows-Ingram

July 23, 2010

Tonight on The Let Out, The FADER's show on East Village Radio, Benjamin Meadows-Ingram will come through to rep his hometown of Memphis heavy, playing tracks from the Tennessee music hub spanning genres from blues to rap. Meadows-Ingram, aka BMI (aka @NotoriousBMI), is renowned for his incisive, intelligent journalism and as a specialist in Southern rap. He has penned countless pieces on such varied hip-hop greats as T.I., Drake, Cam'ron and Eminem, as well as hometown heroes Three 6 Mafia and 8Ball and MJG. He's also a cogent political mind, an exacting writer and a really funny dude. We're pretty psyched to hear what private gems he unearths on his hard drive. (We are hoping he has the Southern Raw Divas compilation on Free-Toes Records. If he doesn't and you do, please email it to us at editorial@thefader.com. We lost it.). Listen to our dirty South party tonight this and every Friday from 6-8PM EST, live on East Village Radio.
