Parental Advisory: El DeBarge's Short Film for "Second Chance"

Check for updates on what your parent’s favorite musicians are doing in our weekly Parental Advisory post. Today’s soul pioneer still making a stamp on music: El Debarge.

The first few lines of "Stay With Me," claiming Baby you can't go on/wondering where you belong/Let me help you find yourself/'cause you don't need nobody else, the DeBarge troop had the type of game that could sweet talk their way to immortality. Those slick words to get into the lady's psyche already earned El DeBarge on lead, another opportunity on Biggie's "One More Chance" remix to be sampled on a great song with more quotables than any artist is lucky to have in their entire career. So technically El DeBarge's album on Geffen titled Second Chance is his lucky charm (3rd), for his mastered falsetto to chirp how gentle he really is, despite his scarred past going to jail and bout with drugs. He talks about turning over a new leaf in the short film below about how he landed his record deal with Jimmy Iovine and uniting with the holy grail of R&B producers Babyface, and Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. Chances are, you'll like it.
