The verbiage is misleading: Sleeping Bags, from Long Beach, release a song called "Cantaloupe" which basically equates to total beach party coolwave lo-fi Hipster Runoff bait USA, right? EERRH. Wrongola. These dudes' heads are in Manchester, maybe, and London at the very least, trodding across the yearning wilds of Shields/Suede/Lush territory. The Sleeping Bags reference comes presumably from wanting their entire bodies to be wrapped in cocoons of white noise—there are certainly no portraits to be found, instead letting faded-out, impressionistic streaks of light represent them. This one's off their new split 7-inch, out August 16 on new label Jodie & Victor.
